More Than Survival

A storytelling and community initiative dedicated to amplifying the voices of people who have lived through trauma, violence, addiction, displacement, stigma, and silence—and are still here. This project creates space for honest, human, and dignity-centered storytelling through photography, interviews, creative writing, audio, film, exhibitions, and community conversations.

"We believe survival is not the end of the story."

More Than Survival challenges narratives rooted in shame, victimhood, and invisibility by focusing on resilience, healing, identity, and the complexity of rebuilding a life. It centers young people, women, minorities, migrants, LGBTQIA+ communities, people in recovery, and individuals whose experiences are too often ignored, misunderstood, or politicized.

Goals

  • Create safer spaces for expression and connection
  • Challenge stigma surrounding trauma, mental health, addiction, and violence
  • Support community healing and solidarity
  • Promote empathy, awareness, and social dialogue
  • Archive stories that deserve to be seen and remembered

"More Than Survival is not about exposing pain for consumption. It is about reclaiming voice, visibility, agency, and humanity. Because people are more than what they survived."

The Weight of Being

An awareness and storytelling project that explores the diverse experiences, challenges, and realities that shape people's lives. Through honest conversations and personal stories, we address topics such as addiction, recovery, mental health, trauma, loneliness, grief, migration, identity, belonging, and the experiences of minority communities, including LGBTQI+ individuals.

"At its heart, The Weight of Being is about being seen, being heard, and being understood. Through storytelling, we seek to highlight our shared humanity, reduce stigma, and remind those who may be struggling that they are not alone."
